You Are Infinite

Just prior to having my son, I attended a mums and bubs group. A beautiful Mumma was brave enough to share her struggles on becoming a mum. One aspect of motherhood she found particularly challenging was the sudden loss of her identity; no longer was she successful business owner, socialite, spontaneous lover and friend (or so it seemed) – her identity was now: ‘full time mum.’

I’m sure we’ve all identified with this feeling at some stage. When each waking hour (and every sleeping hour for that matter) is spent nursing and caring for your little one, it’s easy to lose sight of the person you once were prior to parenting.

A good friend of mine recently said; “I want to say you’re an amazing mother, but you are so much more than that…”

Her words melted deep into my heart. Without realising, I’d longed to hear those words… she was right. I am so much more than a mother.

I am a woman. I am divine. I am sexy. I am fun. I am a lover, daughter, sister and friend. I am courageous. I am strong. I am resilient. I am determined. I am infinite potential. I am eternal. I am WHOLE. I am love. I am at peace with myself. I am all of that and more and yes, I am a dam good mother too.

Remember, you are a multi dimensional being unbound by names, possessions and identities. You are an untethered force of light and love here to shine bright like the star that you are. 💫

Today, break free from the chains that bind you to names and titles. Embrace all that is you.

Love always,

Trust Yourself

Trust yourself (2)

Too often we dismiss our gut feelings. We keep quiet or fail to take action through fear of ‘rocking the boat’, getting it ‘wrong’ or looking ‘stupid’. But those still, small voices within are the whispering of our souls – our intuition. And we must learn to trust in it.

Whenever I have gone against my intuition, there have been consequences; I have missed out on an opportunity, a situation has escalated, or I haven’t felt at ease with myself and others. Each time we fail to take authentic action, we are doing ourselves and others a disservice – we have become misaligned from our truth.

We each have an inner guidance system that points the way toward right thought; right words, right deeds and right action. When we become attuned to our hearts whispers and our soul wishes, we will know how to live.

Today, listen to that still voice within, and trust it.

A Leap of Faith

there-are-hazards-in-anything-one-does
There are many of us stunted by fear – fear of the unknown; fear of failure; fear of succeeding; fear of fear itself! The overwhelming ‘What if’s?’ leave us paralysed, unfulfilled and miserable.  We even try to convince ourselves that ‘now is not the time’, or ‘that ship has already sailed’, or ‘somebody else has already sung it, wrote it, created, pioneered or mastered it.’ And maybe they have! But nobody has ever done it quite like you…

It doesn’t matter how many greats have come before us; or how long we have to imitate before we innovate; because whatever it is we are trying to achieve – we will be adding our own unique flavour and special spark. If you have a calling to do something, yet are allowing fear to stand between you and your dreams – then you risk a lifetime of discontent. For the risks of ignoring the whispers of your heart far outweigh any embarrassment of failure that may come your way.

Honour your dreams. Honour your soul. Don’t allow fear to hold you back any longer. Because yes – ‘there are hazards in anything one does, but there are greater hazards in doing nothing.’

Today, may we take a leap of faith. Let us remember that taking risks is fun, that FAIL simply stands for First Attempt In Learning, and that nobody does it quite like we do!

Soulful Sunday #15: Unchartered Lands

one-doesnt-discover-new-lands-without-consenting-to-lose-sight-of-the-shore

Welcome to my fifteenth instalment of ‘Soulful Sundays’. A weekly share where I post a roundup of soulful reflections, each including recipes, songs, quotes, blogs I have read and/or any other inspirational discoveries to sooth the soul.

For me, Sunday’s have become a day of quiet contemplation and simple pleasures. A time to reflect on the week gone by and to consider my hopes and dreams for the week ahead.

My hope is to extend some love outward and to share some simple pleasures with anyone who cares to receive them.

Soul Reflections

On Thursday I wrote about overcoming perceived failures and finding the courage to voyage unchartered lands. At the age of seventeen, I fell in love with this quote:

We travel not to escape life, but for life not to escape us.

– Anonymous

That was it – off I went with my backpack in tow. Anyone who has ever left home will know that it takes courage to lose sight of the shore, and a willingness to step away from all we have known. But in order to discover new lands, we needn’t travel far and wide – we simply need to go where we have never been before. To break free from our zone of comfort and step into the unknown.

Our voyage may be an internal one; a pilgrimage of the soul. Who knows what hidden treasures we’ll uncover? The long lost dreams we might unearth… As we sail the depths of our oceans we learn to navigate our deepest wants, desires and wishes. What excites us? What beckons us to draw near? What causes us to rebel and make an about turn? If we don’t know where we are going and why we are going there, then our journey will be short lived. So find the courage to dig deep. Be unafraid to explore the depths of your soul. For our true essence is the guiding compass that will steer us safely home, time and time again.

Soul Strolls

I think I’m becoming known as the ‘flower stalker’ in our local park. I walk twice a day to this same park, yet each week new flowers blossom and bloom it’s as tough my soul strolls are always new. I captured these pretty colours this week.

Soul Food

Last Sunday I mentioned that I’ve been drinking a lot of smoothies lately, especially since the weather is lovely and warm here in Melbourne. So I thought I’d share with you my absolute favourite Choco-Berry Smoothie recipe. It tastes divine and the best part is, it’s healthy! Did someone say guilt-free chocolate?

Soul Sounds

This week I took 50 children to see Moana with the holiday club program. If you have children, find an excuse to watch the film! Now! It was beautifully uplifting, emotive and funny too. Since the theme of todays post is losing sight of the shore, I thought I would share the track How Far I’ll Go from the movie, which we all just loved.

Soul Brothers

This week I am sharing Ronovan’s Haiku ‘Hidden Treasures‘ in keeping with Sunday’s theme of discovering new lands. Head over to his blog Ronovan Writes and have a read!

Wishing you a wonderful voyage on this magical Sunday,

In love & light,

Beyond The Ego

authentic-self

Ahh the ego. We all have one. That shadow side in each of us which grasps, blames, condemns, judges, offends, defends, competes, sabotages, attacks and punishes. And whilst we’d all love to be egoless beings, part of the human experience consists of the contrast between our light and shade. Some days we are triggered, our ego is revealed, and there is little we can do to avoid this. At best we can breathe, notice, and learn to respond rather than react. It’s not our job to judge or condemn the behaviour of others, nor should we criticise our own momentary descents into the ego.

At a soul level, we are all equally loveable, perfect, whole and complete.

Beyond our egos, we each possess within us a light of awareness; our authentic Self. Our soul. That peaceful part of us that forgives, loves, accepts, understands, inspires, compliments, encourages, nurtures, perseveres, expands and seeks the Truth. We must look beyond our character flaws and discover the perfect soul within. Our aim is to reach a stage where we can say to one another: ‘The soul in me sees the soul in you.’ – regardless of how much pain and suffering has been caused. That is how we forgive – that is how we love; ourselves as well as others.

Today, be unafraid to show that tender side of you. The side of you who is loving and accepting of another’s flaws. For in doing so, we accept our own.

Let us not forget that ‘the authentic self is the soul made visible.’

In love & light,

Soul Whispers

Too often we dismiss our ideas as ‘silly’ or ‘absurd’. We keep quiet or fail to take action for fear of getting it ‘wrong’ or looking stupid. However, those still voices of intuition are the whispers of our souls.

Today, listen to that small, still voice within, and trust it.

Your Dreams Are Real

shoot-for-the-moon-even-if-you-miss-youll-land-among-the-stars-2
I am a big believer that our dreams come from God and that He has the power to accomplish them. Often we pin our hopes and dreams on one outcome. We have set ideas of how and when we must arrive there. However, in doing so, we miss the many opportunities there are to land among the stars.

Today, dream big. Know that your dreams are real. Trust that God knows precisely the best, possible way for you to fulfil your Divine purpose. When we get out of our own way and allow ourselves to be led by Divine guidance, who knows? We may even land on the moon after all.

In Love and light,

Hayley xx
