Life Goals

Good vibes only

A New Year often ignites new dreams, new goals and fresh intentions. 365 days to play with; 52 weeks to explore and enjoy. And of course, as always “This year will be THE year when I achieve all of my goals.”

But what if your only goal was to be happy? What if this year, you made a commitment to feel GOOD VIBES ONLY, regardless of your circumstances?

Yes, we can promise to lose fifteen pounds, to get ‘the job’ or meet that special someone, but all of that will be short lived without the key element: feeling good from the inside. Losing weight is hard without self love and acceptance; obtaining that job may bring a sense of achievement and success, but pouring love into what you do, regardless of your title, position or paypacket is far more fulfilling long term.

Work is love made visible.

– Kahlil Gibran.

As for meeting that special someone? Life feels much sweeter when we have someone to love and someone who loves us back; but without the presence of SELFLOVE, our relationships may suffer further down the track. Loving ourselves allows all of our relationships to thrive, including the relationship we have with ourSELF.

To love oneself is that start of a lifelong romance.

– Oscar Wilde

This year, make a commitment to yourself to feel good vibes only. Allow your highest energy to flow. Witness how you become a powerful attractor when you are aligned with the love of the Universe.

Love always,

Hayley xx

Ready To Receive

Recieve

Impatience, frustration, discontent, sorrow; we’ve all experienced such crushing emotions to some degree or another. As much as we’d like to deny their existence, it serves us not to stuff down our feelings, to pretend they don’t exist. When we acknowledge our discomforts and allow them to move through us, we honour our emotions in ways that can inspire change. The key is to avoid remaining stuck in the feeling of discomfort for too long.

Without life’s contrasts and adversities, we could never come to know what our true desires are, nor would we appreciate them when they arrive. The best way to become aligned with our desired results is through deep appreciation and gratitude. Like attracts like. If you wish to have more things to be grateful for – be grateful for the blessings you already have. Smile, and be ready to receive what is coming to you with an open and grateful heart.

Soulful Sunday # 30: Life’s Riches

abundance
Welcome to my thirtieth instalment of ‘Soulful Sundays’. A weekly share where I post a roundup of soulful reflections, each including recipes, songs, quotes, blogs I have read and/or any other inspirational discoveries to sooth the soul.

For me, Sunday’s have become a day of quiet contemplation and simple pleasures. A time to reflect on the week gone by and to consider my hopes and dreams for the week ahead.

My hope is to extend some love outward and to share some simple pleasures with anyone who cares to receive them.

Soul Reflections

Recently, I have been stripped back to the bare minimum; no fixed abode, no car, and fluctuating work opportunities. At times, I have felt uncertain as to how I will survive the coming weeks; but when self doubt creeps in, I remember to keep the faith in a supportive universe. It is this deep faith that has ensured a constant stream of abundance continues to flow to and through me.

Both abundance and lack coexist. Where we place our focus is a matter of choice. We can choose to tend to the garden of insufficiency, or the garden of appreciation. Give thanks for life’s true riches; friends, work, family, health, nature, love, joy and laughter. Watch how the seeds of appreciation blossom into the bountiful fruits of abundance.

Soul Strolls

I recently enjoyed a beautiful stroll through the Botanical Gardens with my sweetheart. I love that, even during Melbourne winter, nature thrives with the colour and vibrancy of life.

Soul Food

I love wholesome meals. You can’t beat the smell of a home cooked stew or soup drifting through your home on a brisk winters day, which is why I have started using my stock pot again. Today I am sharing this delicious Pea & Ham Soup by my favourite health and wellbeing blogger, Alice Nicholls. Enjoy!

Soul Music

I would like to share this track by Slumber Jack. It’s a reminder not to be afraid anymore, plus it has a pretty sweet baseline! So rock your socks off!

Soul Sisters

I would love to share Michelle’s post Sunrise Sermon: Safe in His Arms. It is in keeping with today’s theme of counting our blessings and focusing on what’s right, rather than what’s wrong. Do head over for an inspirational read.

Wishing you all an abundant Sunday.

Perspective

change the way you look at things

Dr. Wayne Dyer’s quote may seem like a clever play on words, yet scientific evidence has proven that when we observe circumstances, we literally change their outcome. Scientists of quantum physics discovered that the mere act of paying attention to events alters the course of reality.  This means that the power of perspective is synonymous with that old cliché; ‘Is the cup half empty or half full?’

Albert Einstein stated:

The most important decision we make is whether we believe we live in a friendly or hostile universe.

– Albert Einstein

When things aren’t going our way, a simple shift in perspective has the power to change our circumstances for the better. When we choose thoughts of abundance over lack and scarcity, when we choose to see the good in people instead of their flaws, we begin to experience a friendlier universe instead of a hostile one.

There are days when our focus is stuck on what’s wrong with life, and sure enough, we experience more of that; we receive a parking fine, the lights are all red, the money doesn’t show up, conflicts arise… And there are days when we recognise what’s right with life, and sure enough, Life rewards us with more abundance; we feel more love, we receive an unexpected bonus, strangers smile at us in the street, the lights are all green…

Where your focus goes, energy flows.

– Tony Robbins

Today, when faced with unexpected set backs or challenges, when you feel yourself focusing on lack instead of abundance, on the faults of others instead of their strengths – ask yourself: How can I see this differently?

Operation Affirmation Frustration

I-forgot-the-words-to-my-affirmation.jpg

Some people go into panic mode when they realise the power of their emotions. They attempt to tie a noose around their negative thoughts and walk around affirming positive statements that simply aren’t true yet.

I am not denying that affirmations are a powerful and effective tool for manifestation; because they are and that is why I use them myself and encourage others to do so. However, I am suggesting that we choose our affirmations carefully. If we affirm something that is too far from our current personal reality, this may lead to further frustration. If there is too great a discord between where we are and where we’d like to be in our affirmative statement, then our good intentions could, in fact, have the opposite effect and lead to blocks.

For example, it’s no use saying ‘I am slender’ on days when we feel like a beached whale. That statement will only remind us of what we are not (yet) feeling. And it’s a sure fire way to have us running for the spoon and jar of peanut butter! (Or is that just me???) peanut-butter-meme-700x700So on days when our self esteem and joy are somewhat waning, rather than attempt to bridge an impossible gap, it is much more effective to reach for thoughts and feelings that improve our current state of mind. This is usually something closer within our reach, for example; I feed my body with foods that help it thrive. I love my workouts once I get going. I know that my body is capable of reaching a healthy weight if I allow it to. I am progressing towards a healthy body. My next meal will be healthy and nutritious. There are parts of my body which I love. I am further along than I think. From here, we are able to build some positive momentum. These statements are achievable now. We can take action.

You see, it is not what we say, but how we feel when we say it. So if we are affirming that we are sexy hot like Beyonce Knowles, but feeling like we are sexy NOT like Princess Fiona, beyonce-knowles-and-shrekthen the only emotions we are emitting to the ethers are those of lack, inadequacy, frustration, and disappointment. It is much more powerful to reach for something that makes us feel better NOW! (And no – that does not include the Haagan Daaz Cookies and Cream ice-cream!) That’s a temporary feel good! Trust me – I know… 😉 It means reaching for an honest thought or feeling that allows us to feel vibrationally aligned again in this moment.

Once we feel empowered again, then we can embrace the more assertive ‘I Am’ present moment affirmations – such as I Am *insert desire of choice*
eg. tall dark and handsome/in possession of the job I seek/the shizzle McNizzle!

If we affirm these statements whilst feeling good, then guuuuuurl you are all that and more! (And you fellas!) Heh hem – all this Beyonce talk has got me feeling like Beyonce! Maybe this whole post was wrong after all? And all we gotta do is fake it till we make it?! 😉

Happy Friday loveables! And remember – you are beautiful – Beyonce bootay or not!
