Soulful Sunday #31: Silenced

Welcome to my thirty-first instalment of ‘Soulful Sundays’. A weekly share where I post a roundup of soulful reflections, each including recipes, songs, quotes, blogs I have read and/or any other inspirational discoveries to sooth the soul.

For me, Sunday’s have become a day of quiet contemplation and simple pleasures. A time to reflect on the week gone by and to consider my hopes and dreams for the week ahead.

My hope is to extend some love outward and to share some simple pleasures with anyone who cares to receive them.

Soul Reflections

How often do we think of our loved ones; our spouse, children, parents, dear friends and siblings – and a million things we wish to tell them plague our thoughts? Yet when the moment arrives, we clam up. ‘It’s not the right moment… I feel silly… They already know how I feel about them… I don’t want to embarrass them (or myself)…’ For whatever reason, we are silenced.

When I lost Dad suddenly, there were a million things I never had the chance to tell him, a thousand words left unspoken. Today, dig deep and find the courage to say what’s on your mind, speak what’s in your heart and forget looking foolish. Be bold. Reveal your authentic nature. Discover your voice and share your truth with those you love the most. You never know when it will be too late.

Soul Food

We have an abundance of lemons at the moment and are off to a friends house for a BBQ shortly. We decided to create a number of recipes that call for lemon juice; Moroccan Marinated skewers, lemon and rosemary potatoes, and these delicious Lemon Curd Slices by Alice.  Yumminess!

Soul Music

I’m really loving Tash Sultana at the moment, there are a few tracks of hers that I love. Here’s one titled Notion.

Soul Brothers

I’d love to share this magical poem Silent Whisper In The Dark Night by Vishal. I just love the contrasting beauty and felt it worthy of a share on this Soulful Sunday. Head on over for a read! I know Vishal will welcome you to his beautiful blog.

I’m off to check on my lemony delights! Wishing you all a soulful Sunday. May you speak what’s in your heart my friends.

In love & light,

Hayley xx
